Precinct Studies will be prepared in order to explore specific areas of the University at a greater scale of detail. We will thereby be able to test the technical feasibility and refine plan information generated in the Conceptual Plan phase. The issues that resulted from the observation phase such as pedestrian and vehicular circulation, service points, treatment of open space and entrances, and landscape composition will be addressed. We are planning on having four Precinct Plan areas: Academic Life, Campus Perimeter, Student Life, and Athletics. These precinct workshops will begin in November and run through February.
The selected precinct group will assist the planning team in developing a plan for the specific precinct that will be reviewed by the Steering Committee at the end of the day or the beginning of the second day. This will include a precinct walk and subsequent discussion.
