Open invitation to all UNC Charlotte Faculty, Staff, Students and surrounding neighbors. (see attached invitation below)

The University of North Carolina Charlotte is embarking on the development of a comprehensive campus master plan. The University has retained the Baltimore firm of Ayers Saint Gross to guide the process. The first phase of the plan is Observations where the design team collects information about the campus. This meeting is intended to gather the views of the surrounding neighbors of the campus and the general public. The following questions describe the types of information to be discussed during then open forum.
1.      What is your impression of the University?
2.      Do you take advantage of the cultural or educational venues on campus? If so what and how often?
3.      What are the strengths and weaknesses of the existing campus?
4.      What is most memorable about the campus? What is least memorable about the campus?
5.      Which building or space is the icon of University? Which buildings should be retained at any cost? Which buildings can be removed/replaced?
6.      How does parking and transportation affect your ability or willingness to visit campus?
7.      What are your views regarding the need for additional housing on campus?
8.      How can the campus improve linkages with the city of Charlotte in terms of shared resources, retail/professional services, educational opportunities, and cultural events?
9.      If a significant donor came to you with a few hundred thousand dollars, how would you improve the campus?
10.  What if the donor had several million dollars, how would you improve the campus?
